The palace of Tipu Sultan and the Bungalows of the British stand in testimony of the same.
Now Nandi Hills are popular with the tourists and act as ideal weekend getaway for the people from Bangalore. In the past the Nandi Hills have attracted the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Sir Mark Cubbon, Queen Elizabeth II... It was pleasant to get away fro the buzzeling city and there was a cool wind on the mountain, which we really enjoyed.
We visited the temple as well as the frop point, from which it is believed that Tipu Sultan has thrown his prisoners.
The drive there was about 1.5 2 hours
